How to Sculpt Your Face with Contour and Highlight

The key to a snatched, sculpted face is simple: shadow and light. The rule is to add light to bring things forward and add shadow to push them back. Our new Contour and Concealer palette is the single tool you need to shape your face to perfection. The goal is toaccentuate your natural beauty and bone structure, and we’re about to tell you how!
The essential training of an artist is learning how to render light and shadow. This is how a drawing comes to life. The same applies as you apply contour and concealer to highlight and shade the face. The new Jacque Mgido palettes are multi-purpose. They canbe applied anywhere on the face, making them useful for a multitude of techniques.

About the Palettes

We have two Contour and Concealerpalettes. Each have 5 pans of cream product to conceal, highlight, and sculpt the face. You can use each shadeseparately or blend shades together. There is a light and dark version, each with 5 shades for many different uses. This palette is a multipurpose tool that completes any makeup kit.

Sculpting the Face

The most important thing to remember is if you want to bring a feature of your face forward, you add a highlight. When you want to push something back orminimize it, you add shadow. Another important aspect of contouring and highlighting is that less is more. You can always add more but if you apply too much, it’s impossible to go back.
You want to apply highlight and contour in a way that no one knows it’s there. Over application can be disastrous. Apply contour in the wrong place and it can drag your features down orminimize them in a way you want to avoid. The cream formula makes it easy to blend the product to look natural and flattering.
When you apply the deeper shades in the palette as contour, be sure to always blend upwards to add lift to the face.Lightly apply to the temples, jawline, and under the chin to make the face appear slimmer and more angular. Apply concealer under the eyes and at the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, and the chin. This will draw those features forward. Applylightly and blend well so your face looksnaturally sculpted.

Shape Your Brows

Use the concealer shades in the palette to shape the brows and add dimension. After filling in the brows with a pencil orpomade, clean them up to perfection with the concealer and a flat brush. This palette is super high coverage, so you will be able to makeintensely clean lines to define the brows. Check out this video of Jackie below to see how the product covers and shapes the brows.

Change the Shape of Your Nose

Sculpting and shaping the nose can seem too difficult, but these palettes make it easy. It’s possible to completely change the shape of your nose with subtle light and shadow.
To elongate the nose, add a concealer shade down the bridge of the nose and contour shade to the sides.Lightly blend to make it look natural. Want to create the illusion of a button nose? Add shadow around the tip of the nose with a highlight in the center. To shorten the nose, add contour under the tip of the nose where the nostrils are.
In the video, Jackie creates the effect of a button nose with an elongated shape in seconds.

Shaping the Lips

These palettes can evenbe used to define the lips. This lesser-known contouring technique is a simple way to change the shape of your lips. You can add volume and plumpness to your lipseasily, and with this formula, it’ll last all day.
Start with one of the darker shades in the palette to line the lips with a small, flat lip brush. Add the darker shade to the corners of the lips but leave the center untouched. Use a clean brush to apply a lighter shade. Fill in the middle of the lower lip and the parts of the upper lip that you want to add volume.Lightly blend so that it looks natural. You can add a bit of a light shade along the line of the cupid’s bow of the upper lip to further plump and enhance the lips. You can even add in different shades of lipstick and mix with the contour and customize the look.
In the video below, Jackie shows how to to make the lips look plumper, finishing it off with aclear gloss for an extra pop.

Making your Cheekbones Pop

Enhancing the cheekbones is an easy way to add life and lift to the face. Apply a light shade from the palette to the high points of the cheekbones and blend upwards. This will make the cheeks look rounder and higher, even when topped with a light wash of blush. In the video below, Jackie shows how to make your cheekbones pop with the palette.
